"The present volume `Buddhism, Buddhists and Buddhist Studies' contains

January 02-04, 2009 at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on the occasion
of the birth centenary of Bhikkhu Jagdish Kashyap, the pioneer scholar in
the field of Pali and Buddhist Studies, and the founder teacher of Pali in
Banaras Hindu University.
This volume focuses on three broad themes of the conference - Buddhism,
Buddhists and Buddhist Studies. It deals with the historical survey of
Buddhism, Buddhist Renascent Movements and the role of Buddhists and
Buddhist Scholars in the revival of Buddhism in India during the last
hundred years. It presents the state of Buddhists in different regions of
the world and their struggle to preserve religious and cultural identities,
